BALLET ESPAÑOL FUSIÓN
B.E.F.
Founded in 2003 by its nine dancers and actresses and its director and choreographer Isabel Pérez Torres, Ballet Español Fusión’s first production REPERCUSIÓN opened in 2004 in Calais, Boulogne and Dunkerque.
During the following three years it toured most major towns in Spain and in 2004 the company was awarded the Carolina Prize and was nominated for the best dance production shown in the Valencian region during 2007.
EFEKTOS is the title of the company's second production, which opened in February 2007. Currently on an international tour the production is based on seven scenes and choreographies: Atrevimiento, Lamento, Impulso, Divertimiento Tchaikovski, Felicidad. Complicidad and Experiencia.
These scenes are linked by six sequences where language, music and image depict current social conflicts, the function of memory and the strivings of human will. The production also looks at the role of women and reflects on performative qualities like presence, energy and female sensuality.
EFEKTOS is a journey through different musical idioms, ranging from ancient Arab percussion to contemporary music. The production was awarded Abril Prizes in 2008 and five other Spanish Prize nominations.
